While XP was one of Microsoft’s best operating systems, it made its debut 16 years ago in 2001. We do have to wonder at the users still hanging on to XP and Vista, however. Mozilla hasn’t clarified the reason for the extension, but has confirmed that such users of Firefox will receive security updates till June 2018. Originally, the organisation had stated that they would be moving Windows XP and Vista users to the Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR) program, which would ensure support only till September 2017.
